Rainforest Alliance Certified
Since 2015 all three of our lodges are certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
The Rainforest Alliance Certified™ mark is a tool to encourage progress towards the responsible use of natural resources and promote a healthy market system that values sustainable production, sourcing and consumption and equitable trade and prepare businesses for certification.
The Rainforest Alliance Certified™ mark will allow companies to advise their clients and customers that they are buy¬ing a product or service from a business that cares about its impact on the planet and local communities and has taken measurable steps to reduce that impact.
The Rainforest Alliance Certified™ mark communicates a business' commitment to reducing its environmental impact and is awarded to climate, tourism and certain forestry enterprises.
In 2009 Rainforest Expedition embark on a tough course of action: verification by Rainforest Alliance. It takes us two years, but we make it! Tourism businesses that have signed a verification agreement, achieve a score of at least 50% on their verification performance evaluation, Our 3 lodges. Posada, Refugio and TRC, reached more than 75% of what is required for verification. This verification was the first in the entire region of Madre de Dios
In May 2012, the Rainforest Alliance board of Directors recognized Posada Amazonas Lodge with the Sustainable Standard-Setter award at the 25th anniversary gala celebration, taking place on May 16th, 2012 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, in appreciation of Rainforest Expeditions commitment to sustainability and efforts to promote sustainable tourism and conservation in Peru.
