May to September. The best time for treks, and the only time for mountain climbing. It is the dry season, when it rarely rains. At 3200 meters, the altitude of the lodge, the night can be very cold with occasional freezing temperatures. The day are normally filled with sunshine in the dry season and highs average 19-20°C (as they do throughout the year).

September to December. Treks and tours are doable, but expect rain. Mountain climbing becomes impossible. Rains begins to appear, usually in the afternoons, in the form of short but intense storms.

December to April. Rainy season. This means almost every day you will have torrential rains for one or two hours in the afternoon and frequent and prolonged drizzles. Trekking becomes difficult and uncomfortable because of the wet and slippery terrain. Sightseeing however, is spectacular: everything becomes lush green.
