Conversation and Tourism Noise Biotropica 2010

The goal of eco-tourism may be to foster a healthy respect between humans and the natural environment. However, this new form of tourism could in fact have the opposite effect on the species that are disturbed by this kind of human activity. While people hope to see animals, fish, insects, and other creatures in their natural habitats, the species being observed react in ways that are not conducive to their health or survival. Rather than carry out their normal patterns, the species react in the same manner as they do when they are trying to flee from predators and hunters.
