Rainforest Expeditions (est. 1989) operates three award winning Amazon lodges: Posada Amazonas, Refugio Amazonas, and Tambopata Research Center. Each Amazon lodge provides access to a unique set of ecotourism experiences in the jungle of southeastern Peru.

Certification
At Rainforest Expeditions we have been implementing the recommendations by Rainforest Alliance since mid 2008. These recommendations include areas such as water and energy use, supply chain management, waste treatment, staff training, wildlife impact, and lodge maintenance and safety.
Our goal is to have the recommendations sufficiently well implemented by 2010 to apply for certification. Amongst the initiatives we have implemented in the last year are investments in 4 stroke engines (50% less consumption), renewable energy flashlights, official security and water / energy treatment protocols and training for our staff.
