A Comparison of Human Impacts on Mammals 2011
Humans have an unmistakable effect on the environment. Scientists continue to study the effects that people, both tourists and natives, have on the landscape and the species that live there. Using a variety of monkeys as the primary subject for this study, the results show that the human impact can have damaging repercussions on the monkeys. Their numbers dwindle because of competition with humans for food, as well as exposure to disease or being the target of hunters. If the area being studied is to heal and return to its natural state, it could take years to achieve this goal.
