Voluntourism 3 - Supporting Wildlife Reintroduction
Near Puerto Maldonado is a Center for Wildlife Reintroduction. At the Amazon Shelter wild animals, recovered mainly from the local pet trade, are kept with the aim of reintroducing them to their natural habitat after a process that can take several weeks or months, or that might even never happen in some species. Our contribution to this initiative consists in the construction of an ambient that will host one of the species. After finishing our work, a placard with our names on it will be placed on the new ambient in gratitude.
