Inventory of smaller mammals (RA)
Day-night traps in a 0.25 hectare transect are used to identify Rodents (< 500gr) and Marsupials (< 80gr). The traps are baited daily with a mixture of oats, vanilla and cacao butter. Each morning trapped species are identified with a key, sexed, weighed, measured, marked and released. Fifty-one species are registered for our lodges and new ones may well be added.
